Believe it or not, the Department of Education is in the market for Remington shotguns. In the post below from FedBizzOps website, the government agency that came up with the idea of No Child Left Behind and is responsible for enforcing federal education laws announces it is in the market for twenty-seven Remington 870 Police shotguns.
The Remington 870 comes in several flavors, including a police “entry gun” with a 14 inch barrel (illegal for commoners) and a modular combat version. Remington also manufactures the 870MCS, described as a “breeching weapon” with a 10 inch barrel.
Is the Department of Education expecting problems or do they plan to selectively enforce government “education” (indoctrination) laws at gunpoint? Can you think of any other reason why government bureaucrats would need police shotguns?

RAMAC #24587 GAUGE: 12 BARREL: 14″ – PARKERIZED CHOKE: MODIFIED SIGHTS: GHOST RING REAR WILSON COMBAT; FRONT – XS CONTOUR BEAD SIGHT STOCK: KNOXX REDUCE RECOIL ADJUSTABLE STOCK FORE-END: SPEEDFEED SPORT-SOLID – 14″ LOP are designated as the only shotguns authorized for ED based on compatibility with ED existing shotgun inventory, certified armor and combat training and protocol, maintenance, and parts.
The required date of delivery is March 22, 2010.
