A U.S. senator has suggested that voters have made Barack Obama eligible to occupy the Oval Office, whether or not he meets the constitutional mandate of being a "natural born" citizen.

The comments from Sen. Mel Martinez, R-Fla., came in an e-mail sent to a constituent shortly after the election, which just now was forwarded to WND.

The constituent had asked about Martinez's perspective on the issue on which WND and others have reported: claims made by dozens of lawsuits around the country that Obama might not meet the constitutional qualification for various reasons.

"Presidential candidates are vetted by voters at least twice – first in the primary elections and again in the general election. President-Elect Obama won the Democratic Party's nomination after one of the most fiercely contested presidential primaries in American history," Martinez responded.

"And, he has now been duly elected by the majority of voters in the United States. Throughout both the primary and general election, concerns about Mr. Obama's birthplace were raised. The voters have made clear their view that Mr. Obama meets the qualifications to hold the office of president," he wrote.

This is completely disgusting that they took the constitution and threw it out the window because a majority of people say he is good enough to be the president?!!!
I am utterly disgusted by this. This could mean that an Aussie could run. I knew that there would be no way to get Obama out of his office, but I didnt think that they would use "the constitution doesnt matter" approach.

This is exactly why America is in trouble, we cant even hold onto our core values anymore. A military member tries to question the president, and he gets silenced. Berg tried to take him to court, but they threw it out.

Is there anyone left out there that cares about protecting the constitution? Or is the Constitution like "The Pirates Codebook"..Is the constitution just "guidelines" in their eyes just like the movie The Pirates of The Caribbean?

Whatever it is, it thoroughly disgusts me.

Popular vote doesn't change the foundation. If that's the case, then by popular vote, we could execute all people that have red hair.

Thats the funny thing about how the Libbs view the Constitiution...they see it as a "living document." I take that to mean that they think that they can weed out the things about it that they dont like or, in this case, negate it all together when it would hinder their agenda. Take the 2nd amendment for example. The phrase "...the right of the people" occurs in the 2nd and i think 4 or 6 other amendments yet the libbs choose to take that phrase and apply it to some sort of collective and not private right when dealing with the second amendment. This is the clearest indication of a party trying to bend and weave around the constitution to benefit its agenda. To be honest, why are any of us even remotely surprised by this...? The only promise that BHO gave that i beleive is when he said he would "FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE AMERICA."

I translate that statement as follows : "From here on out, the Constitution means precisely DICK." Lets face it, the Consitiution is dead under BHO and libbs in general. The most f'd up part is that he swore to uphold the constitution when he took the oath of office...chalk another lie up to the BHO admin.

I think if the people actually knew of this, it would be a different case. The media didn't cover it enough to make the people aware. The voters were uninformed.

lol, I'm going to do a poll, and in this poll we will gather "rednecks" and "hillbillies." If the majority of them say it is ok to f*(k your sister, then we will now find that okay.

.....................where the hell is the logic going? .........

Haha, you're right. But Palin sure got plenty of publicity with a pregnant minor daughter.

This is complete bullshit, I knew that the chances were low, but I was holding on to a little bit of faith I still had for the government that they would handle this ineligability problem the right way. Pretty soon other countries are going to start seeing how useless the American gov't is and are going to run all over us.
