As the G-20 Summit nears, Pittsburgh City Council is considering the possibility of instituting an assault weapons ban during the high-profile event.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, city officials are talking about reviving an old law that would ban those types of weapons.

If approved, the ban would likely be in effect until after the G-20 Summit ends.

City council members are expected to consider the assault weapons ban today along with many other pieces of legislation during a special session on the G-20 Summit.

They will initiate it for the "Summit" and not repeal it. This is how they do these things.

Law abiding gun owners need to tell the Pittsburgh city council they will not stand for this, and that they will consider it an act of war on the People.

That is the problem mate. We have many people that are interested in being upset about such things, but do not focus their energies on getting it fixed by doing such things as you suggest.

yes, do not get me wrong there are those out there that will, but they are not numbering in the mass appeal that we need. Tea parties are an example. There are many that are upset. They will say it in public to their friends and coworkers, but when it comes to going to an event to express the same thoughts they will not. Imagine the numbers that we could have seen at such events if those that really were upset about tax increases, the healthcare scam and other things did step up. We would see masses of people.

Too many are just in the If it gets large I might do something, until then I will sit it out.....phase.
